Return to Australia and election into IRSA executive

It feels good to return to my Australian hospital roles after a stimulating and refreshing break overseas. Having spent time with some luminaries in my field overseas, I’m inspired to apply the pointers I’ve learnt to my practice in Sydney. It’s also nice to be home after a long time based out of a couple of suitcases.

I’m excited to announce that I have been elected as the secretary of the Interventional Radiology Society of Australasia (IRSA), which is the national body for my speciality in Australia. I look forward to learning more in the role about education and policy making for interventional radiology and helping to get the word out about minimally invasive image-guided procedures to patient who may benefit from having increased knowledge and choice about their options. IRSA also coordinates out annual scientific meetings and various educational activities is working with our professional college, RANZCR, toward the creation of new training and examination pathways for trainees in intervention. I also formally received my EBIR (European Board of Interventional Radiology) certificate for the exam I sat last year.

Thank you Chris for your qualified skilful procedure performed on/in me last December 13th at RPA. I’m feeling great and hoping for more good news from Simone in October. Two more CT’s, July and October. All the best, Frank Cleary
